Ive been doing heroin everyday for 3 months 4-6 bags a day. Im doing a self-detox. How long does withdrawl last? any tips on how to get through with this...?

    • ANSWER:

  2. QUESTION:
What is the best fiber supplement?
I am looking for a sort of self detox. (plenty of water, clean foods) I just feel that I need to do some cleansing. Any recommendations? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
A balanced diet (as recommended above) is the best. But if you have to supplement, fresh ground flax is the way to go. Not only does it contain great fibre, but it has a very high concentration of omega-3, which is really good for you!

Metamucil and other psillium-based supplements are too hard on your digestive system because they dehydrate your colon, then your colon will be unhappy.

  3. QUESTION:
What is the best fiber supplement?
I am looking for a sort of self detox. (plenty of water, clean foods) I just feel that I need to do some cleansing. Any recommendations? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
APPLE JUICE or anything that is high in Folic Acid. Trust me it works like a charm. And if you still like to eat the foods that make you sick, i just drink a little before and a lot after.

  4. QUESTION:
What's the best way to self-detox your body?
Just curious how to detox out all the junk I've eaten / drank lately. Preferably over the weekend.

    • ANSWER:
A weekend detox is only a little better than a why bother. If you're serious about doing a whole-body detox, there are pre-packaged programs available at your local health food store. Ask them which ones their customers use most. The detox packages are usually two to four herbal capsules twice a day for a month. It'll cost around -. Treat your body to a gentle cleanse rather than a forced blow-out. You'll feel better in the end (literally and figuratively).

  5. QUESTION:
Anyone know of a good self cleanse/detox program?
I have searched on the net, but all the links either refer you to a wonder health pill or someones book. While I appreciate everyone needs to make a buck, I am just looking for a simple, natural, home remedy style detox program. Thanks so much!

    • ANSWER:
If what you want is to detox, you can try what i do, but again, it's to cleanse and detox, not to lose weight. Eat only papaya and water for one day, the next, eat pineapple and papaya. The third, eat pineapple, papaya and light stock (vegetable only, preferably). On the fourth resume eating as you normally do. IF your skin breaks out, drink more water. If you feel faint or lightheaded, stop. Remember cleansing should be done while in optimal health and strenuous exercise should be avoided.

  6. QUESTION:
What is the best detox to kick off a health kick?
I am wanting to do a weekend to a week length detox to start a health kick because i am feeling quite 'blegh' lately with eating rubbish. Does anyone has any suggestions that don't cost the earth with ingredients etc?? Has anyone had weightless success on one??

    • ANSWER:
Planning to undergo detox will not require you much time and effort to do. You can simply do it only at home. To give you an idea, liver, skin and your intestines play big roles in detoxification process. So you need to think ways on how to make them healthy. Provided the question that you have posted, here are some tips you can use to make your body healthy and detoxify the wastes successfully.

1.Increase your water intake with at least 8 glasses up to 2 liters a day.
2.Avoid drinking alcoholic drinks or reduce it into moderate amount if you can’t avoid it.
3.Keep away from franchised foods or canned goods.
4.Eat green leafy vegetables and 2 varieties of fresh fruits at least twice or thrice a day.
5.Take appropriate and enough time of rest to avoid stress.
6.Do simple exercise like breathing, walking or walking up and down the stairs. This would allow you skin to reopen and a chance to flush out any toxic materials through your skin.
7.Take shower and make bowel movement regularly.

With these basic and simple ways, you would be able to make it and successful detox yourself. No need for big amount of money, just self-discipline

  7. QUESTION:
What kind of things would someone go through during Drug Detox?
I have to write a story for English and in it, the main character needs to go through detox. In it, the character has been using drugs for years and shoots up every time he starts to feel something (emotional and physical). What kind of things would he go through during detox?

    • ANSWER:
it depends on what drugs they used..

Meth or other amphetamines = EXTREME psychological effects such as, severe depression, mood swings, paranoia, extreme drug cravings.. there arnt really any physical withdrawal symptoms associated with amphetamines but is made up for and then some with psychological effects.

Opiates (heroin, morphine, oxycodone etc) = depression, anxiety, paranoia, low self esteem, extreme cravings for the drug, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, muscle and bone aches, headaches, insomnia, tremors, cold sweats/chills+goosebumps, heat flashes, and just overall discomfort. No drugs are harder to kick than opiates beause of the extreme physical effects of withdrawal as well as moderate psychological effects,

benzodiazepines (xanax, valium, klonopin etc) = same psychological effects as above, auditory and visual hallucinations, seizures, tremors, and possibly death

coke = depression, confusion, paranoia, headaches, upset stomach, muscle and bone aches.

those are the only drugs that can both be shot up and have withdrawal symptoms

  8. QUESTION:
Why Type of Detox Do I Need for Psoriasis?
Why type/kind of detox do I need for psoriasis? Is there some type of ointment that I can use that doesn't have a bad smell? According to the internet, Psoriasis is overreaction of the immune system. Is there some type of immune supplements that I need to use as well?

    • ANSWER:
If you are referring to topical steriod creams and ointments, they only work temporarily. Eventually the psoriasis conditions come back again, because the source of the problem is inside your body. The immune system as you stated.

I am a psoriasis sufferer for the last twenty-one years. I am happy there are effective solutions that are available now that weren't available over the years. Solutions that could provide medium-term relief.

There are two routes you can take: the pharmaceutical route or the natural alternative route.

For the pharmaceutical route, you could talk to your dermatologist about a weekly self-injected drug called Enbrel (manufactured by Amgen and Wyeth). I am currently on this medication right now and gives me medium-term relief and works fairly quickly. My body is about 60% covered with guttate psoriasis before treatment. Once I started treatment and stay on it, Enbrel lowered my psoriasis coverage to about 10% within two month period. Of course, results will vary for each patient.

Of course, like any pharmaceutical medications, there are side effects. "Enbrel can cause serious side effects including: Infections, including serious infections like TB; hepatitis B can become active if you already have had it; nervous system problems, such as multiple sclerosis, seizures, or inflammation of the nerves of the eyes; blood problems (some fatal); new or worsening heart failure; new or worsening psoriasis; allergic reactions; autoimmune reactions, including a lupus-like syndrome and autoimmune hepatitis. Common side effects include: Injection site reactions, upper respiratory infections (sinus infections), and headache."

Before the dermatologist could prescribe Enbrel to you, he will instruct you to get a tuberculosis test as well as a blood test to see if Enbrel is right for you. And you would need to take these tests about two to three times a year or as directed by the dermatologist.

Lately I have been researching into natural and alternative psoriasis remedies. This would be the safe route to take to avoid the possible side effects of taking pharmaceutical drugs. Please keep in mind that there is no exact cure for psoriasis. Dermatologists will tell you that. What remedy works for one sufferer might not work for another sufferer.

I am looking at a few books and articles about natural and alternative remedies. I came across a great article on how this woman was able to beat psoriasis: http://tinyurl.com/yg3pr74

      Good luck!!

  9. QUESTION:
Where can I buy fresh juices online for a cleanse/detox?
I am planning to do at least a 14 day or a month juice detox. Any online sites where they offer a juice cleanse? Personal experiences if you can share.

    • ANSWER:
Detoxing is a waste of time. If you eat healthy food, including plenty or fruit and veg, your body will detox itself. The human body is self cleansing. Starving yourself for a week or a month will do more harm than good.

  10. QUESTION:
How to stick to my detox / weightloss plan?
I need a few tips to help me stick to my diet/ healthy eating and training exersises.

I am looking for tips like taking pictures of your self every week to watch your change. Stuff like that.

I would also appreciate links to weightloss websites with good tips.
    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
You would better to join a group, friends, fellow dieters, you will help each other and that will give you a boost. Healthy eating, exercise fine but it can get a bit boring if you dwell on it. With like minded people it could be fun.
Make it fun, enjoy a weekly meeting, forget the detox bit.
As for diet sites, just type in diet, there they are - Hay, Atkins, Tesco and the gi diet aso, dozens of sites. Looks like half the world is dieting.

  11. QUESTION:
How will you convince someone who is young and addicted to alcohol to stop destroying them self ?
...... when they are aware of the full consequencies and feel helpless in trying to get off the booze? Could there be any possibility to permantley detox in order to regain mental stability?
Dear Rebecca w, my friend is a young mum of three children; she loves them dearly but the alcohol controls her mind and she knows it but cannot overcome her addiction.

    • ANSWER:
It is impossible to own anyone else's addiction and you need to accept you can not change what you do not own.

You can only tell them that you care and that they need to own their own addiction. They alone have the choice to feed it an make it grow or nurture other things in their life and make them grow instead.

If they are interested they can seek help from Drug and Alcohol counsellors, Alcoholics Anonymous, or their local doctor. If they choose to not act on this information all you can do is let go.

Sorry I can't sound more positive but I can say from personal experience that owning someone else's addiction and taking responsibility for it will not help them and will eventually destroy you.

I wish you and your friend the best of luck.

  12. QUESTION:
Can someone give me a website or recipe for a liver detox?
Is it crucial to do a colon and kidney detox before undergoing the liver detox? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
It isn't crucial to detox at all.
The idea of detoxifying or purifying the body of harmful substances has been around for centuries and cycles back into popularity now and again.

We are not full of toxins, the body and the colon are self cleansing.
season”, health specialists say that people’s drive to purge their bodies of toxins can, in fact, be harmful.

Catherine Collins, chief dietician at St George’s Hospital in southwest London, said she saw dozens of patients suffering side-effects ranging from bowel problems to potassium depletion. “There is a fixation with the notion that we can detoxify the body through what we eat and drink, but the whole idea has no scientific basis,” said Dr Collins.

Is it dangerous for me to take fat burning get pills and also drink complete body cleansing detox at the same time?

    • ANSWER:
      Probably more silly than dangerous.
Fat burning pills do not burn fat. Only movement, exercise does that. They depend on caffeine, or it's equivalent, to make you feel more alert (or anxious), so you might just get up and exercise.

Detox is a myth, we are not full of toxins, our body and our colon are self cleansing.
So called detox stuff tends to depend on laxative ingredients, which upset the normal flora in a healthy colon.

  16. QUESTION:
Is there a hospital that does detox for sugar?
Is there a medical establishment a sugar addict can go to get professional detox for her sugar addiction? If not why don't they have a place like this?

    • ANSWER:
I highly doubt that there is as sugar is not a drug.
Go get some pure sugar and start eating that, not nice is it.

All you require is some self control from not eating anything sweet, it is as easy as that but people find it difficult at different stages.

  17. QUESTION:
I am doing the Master Cleanse detox diet. Will adding natural, sugar-free packets to my water affect the diet?
I am anemic. Will taking my iron supplement affect the detox process or weight loss?

Please share any tips that you may have concerning this diet. I am on day 4.

    • ANSWER:
Detox is a myth and the basic principle behind the Master Cleanse is a detoxification fast.
But he body and the colon are self cleansing.
If your doctor has prescribed the iron and it does not upset your already irritated stomach lining, take it.
The sugar free packets won't affect anything. As you are anaemic think again about continuing the cleanse.

"Not only is this program hard to follow, and the drink hard to swallow, it is potentially dangerous as well. You are inhibiting your immune system, as well as your ability to process food.

Purposefully irritating your gastro-intestinal tract is never a good idea, but salt water flushing actually removes healthy, helpful bacteria from the lining of your colon. By engaging in this practice for an extended period of time, you are effectively wiping out one of your first lines of defense against infection and sickness.

In addition, prolonged fasting has many negative side effects, including all the symptoms that go along with malnutrition: insomnia, cravings, nausea, depressed mood, hair loss... the list goes on. Proponants of the Master Cleanse will tell you that these are signs that the toxins in your body are being eliminated, but you would experience the same symptoms on a water-only fast."

  18. QUESTION:
How do illegal drugs and alcohol affect those with bipolar with psychosis?
The person self medicates with alcohol and drugs (usually m-cat and ecstasy pills).

She used to be on abilify but refused to take it after making her mood worse and increased thoughts of suicide and self harm.

How would the alcohol and drugs affect someone with bipolar with psychsis?

    • ANSWER:
Please understand that your friend is caught up in a terrible marketing scheme put together by some very shady people that has basically hijacked the medical industry. Here is a series of 18 videos you need to see to fully understand how this happened and why taking those psycho drugs are one of the dumbest things a person can do.

The symptoms are nothing more than nutritional deficiencies and an excess of toxins in the body.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1nbZCNDgbY&feature=player_embedded#at=56

Your friend needs to get educated and then put on a course of real health, not those very stupid drugs that are making Americans drug addicts. I suggest having her see a certified nutritional therapist that can test her and determine the nutritional deficiencies and help her detox the garbage out and then put her on a health building diet that she will see results and get her on the road to real health, not that "MAKE BELIEVE HEALTH" being promoted by men in white coats that have no clue about nutrition and real health.

      good luck to you

  23. QUESTION:
Help ! How long do the police keep you in detox in orlando?
My Boyfriend got abusive, but did not get arrestted. They took him to a central receiving detox unit. I need to know how long I have till he gets out so I can get a restraining order. I live in orlando, the police made it sound like he'd be out tommorrow, but I heard from someone else that they keep you 24 to 72 hrs. I've looked all over the net. Please help me.
I wrote out a report. There are papers then? He went in around 5 pm and if he gets out midnight I will not be safe. Can someone loook this up to make sure?

    • ANSWER:
In Florida he could have been held under the Marchman Act, ie, taken to jail as he was intoxicated to the point of being a danger to him self or others. In that case he would be released when sober.

If he was held under the Baker Act, he could be held as a mental health risk for up to 72 hours in a secure facility like a hospital or a crisis center.

  24. QUESTION:
What physical consequences should I expect during the first 15 days of attempting to stay sober?
I am a 30 year beer drinker. I don't like the stuff, never did, but it anesthetizes me to the stresses, fears, and responsibilities in my life. I experience all kinds of bad consequences from my behavior, but I know I must and desire to stop and keep stopped, but the ups and downs of trying to get to even is "extremely" difficult. What can I do to keep on track and not self sabotage my goal?

    • ANSWER:
I think I'd call my doctor and sit down and have a frank discussion about my drinking. The doctor can assess whether you will need medication the first week to detox at home safely or they may want to put you inpatient but many detoxes are done at home. You can expect a wide range of emotions but you should definitely have a support system in place. AA is free. A counselor can help. Support of family and friends.
Have a plan and stick with it. If you feel the urge to drink then hit an AA meeting or call a sober friend. Learn distractions for cravings. They will pass but they can seem quite intense when they're happening. Change your habits. It's brave of you to do this and so very worth it.

  25. QUESTION:
How can I cope with panic attacks if I have no medical insurance?
The panic attacks I've experienced very infrequently over the last several years have suddenly become horrifying and almost constant since I quit drinking.

I am twenty-seven, uninsured, and have very little money. My options seem to be: 1. Keep drinking (and even this is becoming less effective); or 2. Buy some kind of benzodiazapines off the street.

Any suggestions? Is there some kind of free detox program?

    • ANSWER:
Funny you should ask; that sounds very similar to my situation for the past few years. I also used to self-medicate with alcohol...caused me a lot of court-mandated stuff and general misery. I've since quit drinking, but I remember the initial period was rough with the anxiety.

If you're in the U.S., I think most average-sized towns have a health facility for flu shots and counseling for lower income folks. It is possible to go in and see a counselor about the anxiety, and possibly a psychiatrist will prescribe small-dose Xanax tablets (Alprazolam). I take 1-2 .5 milligram pills when needed. I must stress however, that these are considered addictive and classed as such. A lot depends on a person's individual body chemistry. Alprazolam is the most widely-used and also the most effective short-term treatment of anxiety, if my memory serves me well.

The most important part is that I finally learned that when I drank, I actually had MORE anxiety. Because the morning after, you're coming up from extreme relaxation into what seems like an agitated state, in comparison.

I tend to be long-winded, but mostly try to get in and see one of those counselors. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, by the way. Everyone and their dog needs to see a counselor every so often.

Also, please note that I am just an average Joe- A Professional will have the real answers.

  26. QUESTION:
The effects of taking Crstal Meth and what it does to you physically?
Please help me! My two children are both addicted to Crystal Meth. I need to know where to go to on the net to find more information about the effects of the drug on the body from a medical standpoint and how to begin the detox process for them. They both want to quit and have tried, but cannot do it alone. We have no health insurance to speak of and live in California.. They 24 and 21 years of age and have been using for about three years.

    • ANSWER:
Methamphetamine affects your brain. In the short term, meth causes mind and mood changes such as anxiety, euphoria, and depression. Long-term effects can include chronic fatigue, paranoid or delusional thinking, and permanent psychological damage.

Methamphetamine affects your body. Over “amping” on any type of speed is pretty risky. Creating a false sense of energy, these drugs push the body faster and further than it's meant to go. It increases the heart rate, blood pressure, and risk of stroke.

Methamphetamine affects your self-control. Meth is a powerfully addictive drug that can cause aggression and violent or psychotic behavior.

Methamphetamine is not what it seems. Even speed drugs are not always safe. Giga-jolts of the well-known stimulants caffeine or ephedrine can cause stroke or cardiac arrest when overused or used by people with a sensitivity to them.

Methamphetamine can kill you. An overdose of meth can result in heart failure. Long-term physical effects such as liver, kidney, and lung damage may also kill you.

There are many places to get free help and support. Here are a few:

  27. QUESTION:
How long would it take to get addicted to Methadone?
Please don't give me any sarcastic or give me problems because of what I do. I don't need anyone preaching to me or telling me I shouldn’t use drugs. I am addicted to heroin and have been for 7 months. I am trying to quit but there aren’t any recourses for detox where I live and I don't want to take methadone for any long amounts of time. My plain is to take it for a few days to get over the worst part of withdrawals, I was thinking 3-4 days. I just want to know how many days of taking methadone it would take before I would become addicted to it. I know some people are going to want to say that it doesn’t work that way. I know people who have kicked this way so I know it gets you through the worst part of the kick. The problem is I can't get a straight answer about how long I should take it for. If I could get a reason or reference to how you came up with your answer that would be great. Thanx.

    • ANSWER:

  29. QUESTION:
How long will it take chemo drugs to full leave my body?
I recently stop chemotherapy and was wondering how long the drugs would last in my body? Also I was told the best was to detox or cleanse my body would be to drink lots of water, does anyone know of a detox or cleansing routine that would help get these drugs out of my body?

    • ANSWER:
The following links provided may help answer some of your questions:

How long does it take to get chemo, CMF, out of your system?
Answers —Russell Portenoy, M.D.: It is important to distinguish the direct effects of chemotherapy as it circulates in the body from the long-term effect that can continue after the body has eliminated the chemotherapy through normal metabolic pathways. Most chemotherapy is eliminated from the body fairly quickly, and the fatigue that patients experience after treatment is a prolonged effect that continues long after the chemotherapy is gone. A person should not assume that feeling fatigued means that the chemotherapy is still in the body. As we said before, fatigue has many possible causes and the experience of severe fatigue should be evaluated so that these causes can be identified and treated.
Marisa Weiss, M.D., president and founder: Among the many causes of fatigue, there are hormonal influences that can have a significant effect, including your thyroid gland function. In the evaluation for your fatigue, make sure that this is also checked out.

How long does the chemotherapy stay in my body?
A: Not very long. Most agents are completely metabolized and excreted within several hours. The damage sustained by cancer cells from chemotherapy agents, however, may not result in the death of the cell for several days.

Also, on the question of detox, etc., speaking from my own experience (non-cancer) on alternative medicine, a certified and/or qualified health care practitioner (naturopath, integrative M.D.) should be sought if you would like to bring your body back to an enhanced state of health. These people can help you and even with before/after chemo/cancer treatment.
Remember, it should be a qualified clinic with qualified people. Ask an association, etc., in your area concerning this field of medicine... and.... never self-medicate, always, always seek out the advice of those with expertise in their craft. Believe me, I know from experience. Good luck and all the best in health!

tey are best avoided and you have found out they don't work.
The body and the colon are self cleansing.
Dr Roger Clements, a chemist at the USC school of pharmacy, said tests have proved that no extra toxins were expelled from the body on detox diets and that suggesting the digestive system needs a break is ludicrous.

While retailers celebrate the arrival of the “detox season”, health specialists say that people’s drive to purge their bodies of toxins can, in fact, be harmful.

  31. QUESTION:
IS it possible to poison your self by consuming to much blue green algae (spirulina)?
Also how many 500mg tablets should I consume for maximum benefits. Does blue green algae (spirulina) help detox the body?
I have finally stopped smoking weed and cigarette's, and I just want to get the toxins out of my body. I have been consuming around 6 X 500mg 3 or 4 times a day.
I can feel it working so first answer your talking out your ass

    • ANSWER:
I am somewhat skeptical as to the detoxifying effect of spirulina tablets. To be honest, it could simply be that since you stopped smoking, your body is naturally removing the toxins. there is something known as the placebo effect- and that could be the case here... Anyways, algae is a good source of nutrients, so that could help? As for poisoning yourself, it's unlikely. It is true that there are poison strains of cyanobacteria, but spirulina doesn't seem to be one of them... Good job on quitting smoking!

  33. QUESTION:
My brother is suicidal and has severe alcoholism. He has attempted suicide several times. How do I help him?
The family wants to do an intervention, but his self esteem is so minimal that we fear it will reinforce his negative view of himself and instead of accepting the help, he will leave and commit suicide. Also, we would like to place him in an inpatient rehab facility. Does anyone know of an affordable facility?

    • ANSWER:
Alcoholism Is a Mental Illness all to itself. Whenever it is co-mingled with other mental illnesses such as depression, schizophrenia, of morbid fixations the person becomes overwhelmed with confusion, question and doubt. No person wants to admit mental illness, and none but few wish to realize that they are alcoholics. Alcoholism also causes the brain damage that leads to mental illness. This is not a time for debate, your brother is sick. Often interventions fail because it alienates the person that it is intended to help. For those who are not familiar with A.A. it is a twelve step program whose purpose is to carry the message to those who suffer from alcoholism. Call them, explain to them the situation and tell them an alcoholic told you that your brother needs a twelve step call. Alcoholics are the best at talking sense to other alcoholics. The script is they tell him their story, to make him feel comfortable give him a chance to tell his. Even if he is delusional they'll listen and then offer him help, like take him to detox, treatment or a meeting. You see alcoholism is an obsession of the mind that leads to isolation, jails, hospitals and death. Untreated it robs a person of their very soul. AA members know this better than any preachers, doctors, or pleading, or threats. Call the AA central office in his area...before its too late.

  34. QUESTION:
Why is it when my husband quit smoking he lost his libido and it has been 2 wks since he quit?
Does the body go into shock and kill the libido during detox? We always heard sex is better when you quit???? So far, that is inaccurate. Sex is non existent when my husband quit.

Can any of you explain things on this subject?

    • ANSWER:
His body has to rid itself of all the bad toxins & nicotine before things will get back to normal. Give it a good 90 days to be able to tell a noticeable difference. If he also drinks beer/ale/booze or does drugs - that also will interrupt blood flow to his penis resulting in diminished libido, erectile dysfunction or impotence.
The following article could prove beneficial to him:

Improve Sexual Virility - (For Guys)

Many men suffer from a low sex drive, sexual performance problems, and an overall lack of male virility. These problems can negatively impact a man's self-esteem, sense of self-worth, and the quality of his romantic relationships. However, problems with male virility and sexual functioning can be, in most cases, remedied. What follows is a list of lifestyle, health, and dietary factors that promote strong male virility and improved sexual function and performance.

Step 1 - GET ADEQUATE SLEEP

Your body needs adequate amounts of sleep in order to maximize sexual performance and sexual virility. A lack of sleep is a major cause of low sex drive and/or sexual problems. Strive to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep each night to increase and maintain sexual virility. Take afternoon rests or naps when possible.

      Step 2 - DE-STRESS REGULARLY

Chronic stress is toxic to the body and can negatively impact sexual virility and sexual function. Strive to keep stress levels as low as possible in order to maximize not only your health and well-being, but to increase your sexual virility and sex drive. Meditate on a regular basis; do yoga moves in addition to deep breathing exercises to help unwind and de-stress.

      Step 3 - EXERCISE REGULARLY

In addition to improving mental and physical health, regular exercise promotes healthy sexual function and helps to improve sexual virility. Aim to exercise at least 4-5 times per week, incorporating moderate cardiovascular exercise in addition to strength training. Regular exercise promotes healthy blood circulation and increases testosterone and growth hormone levels, all of which promote increased sexual virility and sexual function.

Step 4 - ELIMINATE JUNK FOOD

Eating a healthy diet promotes physical and emotional health as well as healthy sexual function and virility. A poor diet, one lacking in adequate nutrients and antioxidants, can result in a low sex drive and sexual performance problems, including impotence. Eat a diet heavy in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean cuts of meat and fish, and low-fat dairy to increase sexual virility and improve sexual function.

Step 5 - ADD GARLIC TO YOUR DIET

Garlic is rich in allicin, which can improve blood flow to the sexual organs, which in turn promotes healthy sexual function and strong, hard erections. Cut up some garlic and sprinkle it on your favorite foods. Or take a garlic supplement. Garlic is a sexual super food that can increase your sexual virility.

Step 6 - ADD AVOCADO TO YOUR DIET

Avocados are rich in folic acid and high in vitamin B6, both of which help to regulate sexual hormone function, which in turn helps to optimize sexual health and sexual virility. Add some avocado slices to your salad or on your sandwich.

      Step 7 - EAT A BANANA DAILY

Bananas are another sexual super food that can help improve sexual function and increase sexual virility. Bananas are high in bromelain and b vitamins, both of which are potent sexual hormone regulators that can help improve sexual function, sexual desire, and sexual virility. Add a banana to your daily diet.

  35. QUESTION:
How to cleanse my digestive system?
I am 19 year old, deaf (so hate seeing doctor as I cant talk to him without interpretor) and have 2 bowel movement a week which I think bad.

I know the reason and this because I eat all refined stuff and never eat fruit or vegetable and always just white bread.

I eating fruit and vegetable now everyday for two weeks and having bowel movement once per day which is improvement.

But how can I totally detox my digestive system and become healthy so I don't get bowel cancer?
I also eating Yoghurt so I get bacteria in intestine.

    • ANSWER:
      Drinking Water:
Drinking Water is instrumental in detoxification. Water flushes toxins and waste from the body and transports nutrients to where they are needed. Try to drink eight to ten glasses of pure water a day.

      Baths and Saunas
Water is also useful externally: baths and saunas can help detoxification. Hot water increases blood flow and capillary action near the surface of the skin, causing faster release of toxins. The heat also increases sweating and opens up pores. However, you should make sure that the water in which you bathe is pure. You should also be careful because the hot water and detoxification effect could cause dizziness; if so, don’t try to get up. Many health practitioners recommend having someone in the house when you take a detoxification bath. There are a number of substances you can add to your bath to help the detoxification process.

      Eating a Healthy Diet
Eating a healthy diet ensures that you get proper nutrition and also helps the cleansing process. Fresh, raw foods and grains ensure that you get the enzymes necessary to adequately digest your food. Avoid foods that contain additives or are nutritionally bankrupt. Avoid sugar, salt, saturated fats, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. Avoid meat, as animal protein puts a tremendous strain on the digestive system. You should also eat yogurt, as this helps maintain a proper bacterial balance.

      Exercise
Exercising stimulates body systems so that metabolic efficiency is stepped up. This, of course, includes the systems that are integral to cleansing, such as the digestive system. It also strengthens the body and the mind.

      Stress Management
Practicing stress management is important because stress affects us physically. It weakens the immune system and robs the body of important nutrients. Stress hinders digestion and the cleansing process.

      Herbs, Fiber & Supplements
Using herbs, fiber, and supplements can be very important to a cleansing program. Many herbs facilitate the cleansing program and contribute important vitamins and minerals. Fiber "sweeps" the digestive tract clean and quickens the transit time of waste elimination. It absorbs toxins and escorts them out of the body. A probiotic supplement helps balance the good and bad bacteria in the digestive tract.

      Fasting
Fasting has been used for centuries to cleanse the body. However, fasting can be harmful and should only be done under the supervision of a health practitioner.
      Enemas & Colonic Irrigation
Using enemas and colonic irrigation helps flush toxins out of the colon. Enemas can be self-administered, but colonics should be done under the supervision of a health practitioner.

Preventing toxins from building up in the future should be ongoing. This is easily done by drinking pure water, eating a plant-based diet, exercising, and practicing stress management. Avoid environmental toxins as much as you can. Wear protective clothing or a mask when working with household or workplace toxins.

  36. QUESTION:
I'm trying to detox off of 1800 miligrams Lyrica, does anyone have any advice?
I've been abusing Lyrica for about five years now and really want to come off it. I've try'd several times to stop but I get really sick. I'm scared to death, does anyone have any answers besides throwing in the towel and going to a detox center, please.

    • ANSWER:
Sorry, im back. So pregabalin (Lyrica) detox can be as hard as any opiate detox. Most physicians believe it is much less, and it actually was used first in pain relief during major opiate detox. The use of antiepileptic (anti-seizure) medications for neuropathic pain is relatively new. They have been greatly proven in the field and are a great step sideways from narcotics to deal with neuropathy, especially since narcotics (opioids) dont actually do anything for the pain, they just mask it. The problem with using antiepileptics, is they increase your seizure threshold, so when you stop taking them, there is an increased seizure risk, as well as rebound pain as your nerves "wake up," and other detox effects(to include all the psychological effects too). If you are trying to quit taking lyrica on your own, you need to stop immediately and make sure your prescribing provider knows about it. You need to be gradually weaned down, then possibly switched to something like gabapentin, then weaned down further. You also need to be monitored for seizure activity, and precautionary measures taken. You can do it, I just would not recommend doing it alone. There are medications that can help. And if by some strange chance you were getting lyrica illegally (street. which is very unlikely), you need to find a detox help center or addiction specialist and get the help you need. If you really dont want to go to a detox center, then you could try to wean yourself down over a couple months. But understand its against any advice I could offer, very dangerous, and you WILL still have to deal with some detox. There are outpatient clinics you could visit, not detox centers, that you could go weekly or monthly to get a controlled self detox thats safe and effective. Good Luck. Email me if you have any questions, or if I can help any further.

  37. QUESTION:
What is the best (safe) way to ween someone off of large amounts of vicodin?
Without causing withdrawal affects.. She has been on it for 4 years and takes around 8-15 750mg pills a day. What is going to be the best solution for helping her detox safely and effectively?
    ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................

    • ANSWER:
      This is a difficult process, especially if the person has been taking them on a daily basis for an extended period of time. First and foremost the person needs to be willing to ween them self from the medication. Taking medication for this duration of time and the amount which is being taken on a daily basis is quite a lot, and withdraw symptoms can be pretty bad once the medication is stopped or the body is not getting the amount of medication it is used to getting. Speaking with a physician is a good start, they can offer several options that would be the most beneficial to the patient in the situation. Sometimes they will have the patient sign a contract, stating that they will only receive medication from one doctor, this is to assure that they patient or person does not seek other means while they are weening from the medication to obtain more. The doctor may choose to slowly decrease the dose and amount of medication that is being taken to safely ween the patient or person from the drug and choose to monitor the person to make sure they are doing well. Tramadol is another medication that is sometimes used for patients to ween them from the medication, because the medication acts in the same way that a narcotic pain medication does, but it contains no narcotics. There are also other medications to help with this;

The FDA has approved a new medication for use in the treatment of opiate prescription detox. This medication, called buprenorphine, may help both physical and mental withdrawal symptoms. Some drug treatment programs have widely advertised treatments for opiate withdrawal called detox under anesthesia or rapid opiate detox. This involves anesthetizing the patient and injecting large doses of opiate-blocking drugs, with hopes that this will speed up the transition to normal opioids system function. Treatment of withdrawal includes supportive care and medications.

If medication is not available to the person, The best option is to again make sure that the person is willing and able, support them, and possible counseling. If the medication is being taken for a pain condition, try pain management, it is a safe and effective way to aiding in managing pain and monitoring medication intake.

Either way, good luck, I know first hand how difficult this can be!definitely

  38. QUESTION:
How long will marijuana stay in my system?
Since April 30th, I've smoked about 4 times, the last time being last weekend (June 18th). How long the THC stay in my system? I need to schedule a drug test for this job I got. What detox drinks work? I got the GNC detox kit, but apparently it won't help me?
I exercise about 5 days a week too
I weight about 105 pounds with pretty fast metabolism

    • ANSWER:
The answer is in the exact frequency of intake!
Lol - that was JUST this last weekend! Smoked Friday?
What kind of drug test? When did you smoke before that?

I'm gonna hook you up!! The above questions are important as is the below info meant also for future inquiring minds - 'cause I'm tired of seeing this same 'ol question.
For a pee test if abstained for 5 whole complete days (ain't lying to our-self *) before smoking this past Friday then Tuesday (tomorrow) - Clean!! * Based on saying this is a 4th time so I spread it out.

To help - you and this community - and hope people search before ASKing:
The answer is in the exact frequency, being truthful with the last date smoked and prior use!!
Doesn't matter the # of hits, exercise schedule, metabolism (heavy does matter if you smoke everyday), height and weight or even the grade of marijuana. A drug store OTC test can set the mind at ease. Marijuana has a 'half life' and every metabolism is slightly different.
Any use in a day takes on average 3 full days after to clear. Intake before that 3 days is over and it becomes 6 full days of no use until clean. Detox drinks work for people who are already clean and have read up on how to provide a drug test urine sample.

  39. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
It's great that you've this ambition, but you can't shop an idea to publishers. If you'd like to publish traditionally, you need to (1) complete your manuscript and (2) have it edited by several parties, including outside persons who are objective, I always suggest aspiring authors take the time to purchase Writers' Market and/or Literary Market Place (it has a big ol' LMP on the spine). (I hate to say it, but if your question has typos in it, you most likely should get your work edited.) Both will explain how to publish one's book and contains the names, addresses, and contact information for literary agencies and publishing houses. Many people would like to believe that they could just mail their work to publishing houses without representation, and I can assure that many, if not most, publishing houses DO NOT accept unsolicited manuscripts. They DO accept submissions from literary agents--like Pippin Properties, Lord Literistics, and Writers House (NOT to be confused with Authors House).

It is worth the energy and the cost (for fees) to hire a literary agent. An agent will be better able--and with better connections than you, it's not hard to see why not--to shop your manuscript around to potential publishers. Once you've figured out which agent you would like to go with, follow up by finding out what their submissions guidelines are. Most agencies (and houses) ask for the first three chapters, a synopsis of your work, a cover letter, a query letter, and a SASE. Other than the agency fees, you should not have to pay one dime to have your book published.

If you insist on not going with an agent and attempting to do submissions on your own, you will still need to follow the publishers' submissions guidelines. It's very, VERY rare that a publisher will accept an unsolicited manuscript, but not unheard of. If by chance your work is acquired, please be sure to find a lawyer who specializes in publishing to review your contract. You still should not be paying out any money to have your book published (other than stamps, Xeroxing, etc.). Oh, and just because it was a question on Yahoo!Answers once, do not expect your submission to be returned to you. The SASE is simply for the publisher's reply.

Another question I often see is whether or not to have your work copyrighted prior to the submissions process and that is an emphatic NO! For one thing, your work is already copyrighted the minute you right it down. What most people are worried about are plagiarism, and I can tell you that is the most tacky, most unsportsman-like thing for a REPUTABLE agency and/or house to do. I can assure you that in the more than ten years I've been in publishing, I have never heard or read of ANY house/agency doing this. In any case, you may be thinking that you should get the work registered with the US Copyright office anyway. Shouldn't hurt, right? This is incorrect! Every word, every comma, every em dash in your work would be registered with them. Yes, this will protect your work in a court of law. If you wanted to file suit against someone for plagiarism, registering your work would be a great idea. However, once your manuscripts is acquired, it WILL be edited, it WILL be copyedited, and the resultant body of work will be vastly different from the original, which is what is under copyright protection. This new body of work will not longer be protected under the copyright laws. You should not have to worry yourself about such things. Once the work is "final," the publisher will be the one responsible for registering the completed manuscript.

I strongly advise against self-publishing and vanity presses, only because they aren't worth their wait with award committees (such as the Caldecott, the Printz, the Newbery committees) and also because you are the one will be financially responsible for getting your book out there, for selling it, for marketing it. Why do that when a publishing house has people who will do that for you?

I don't mean to be discouraging, and it's admirable that you'd like to help people. It's just that traditional publishing is notoriously difficult to break into. To effect more change, perhaps you should contact the American Heart and Lung Association. You could perhaps write for them on how to quit; for either any publication they would produce or for their online site. You may not make any money from it, but you'd still be helping them, which sounds to be your ultimate goal.

    • ANSWER:
Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way.

      1. Lose weight with water.
Water is essential for everybody - it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven't been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.

      2. Soup up your weight loss program.
A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don't eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.

      3. Eat early to keep weight off.
The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

      4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.
Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

      5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.
Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don't last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function - not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

      6. Walk off the weight.
The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

  47. QUESTION:
When should you finally give up on an alcoholic?
My older brother was a smart guy. Brilliant, actually. He has two advanced degrees and speaks four languages. When he got two DUIs during college and then grad school, we were concerned but didn't think alcohol and drugs would take over his entire life. That was ten years ago. Today, he cannot hold a job and literally cannot function without alcohol in his system. He went through detox last year and went into cardiac arrest. He has been in and out of rehab, and in and out of hospitals. Which is where he ended up late last night, beaten severely with a baseball bat. I could go on forever detailing the ways in which he has destroyed my family's lives. But my question is this: is there ever a point at which you should wash your hands of a relative who doesn't want to save himself?

    • ANSWER:
There comes a time when you must protect yourself and live your life. YOU cannot cure, control, or change who your brother is. You are not responsible for him and you are not the cause of his problems. There are some great self-help books like Codependent No ore, and alanon to support the families of alcoholics. It is important to be responsible for yourself and to live your life the way you want to. That doesn't mean never seeing your brother nor does it mean that you love him any less. Sometimes putting a little distance between you can help. The fact that you are asking the question means that it is time to take care of you for a change!

The big names they quote as having endorsed it are suing.
      The bloggers are a mirage.
The photographs are digitally enhanced by Photoshop.
Our body is self detoxing. The liver and kidneys do ti perfectly well.It is also self cleansing - skin, lungs liver, kidneys.
