  4. QUESTION:
Does anyone know how to start a RAW diet for beginners?
I been looking at Raw diet videos and I am interested in start one to become more healthy! So how would I start one because I want to take it lightly and just try it at first.

    • ANSWER:
I would start out with an elimination diet. You have to get your body used to the idea of eating only vegetables, fruits, and nuts gradually. I like the elimination diet found at http://www.springclean-cleanse.com/colon-cleansing-elimination-diet.html. It is gradual and flexible at the same time. Make sure that you take proper supplements with your new diet. There are some nutrients and amino acids that are only found in animal products (like vitamin B12). Be careful and eat balanced meals. Good luck!

  6. QUESTION:
Whats the best way to lose belly fat?
Im not overweight but I should lose some belly fat, I was told to do crunches to lose the belly fat. Is that the best way or is there a better way?

    • ANSWER:
Depends on what is making your belly appear fat.

Crunches will tone and strengthen the abdominal muscles

But they wont get rid of fat can only be reduced by getting the body to draw on its reserves and use it.

      This requires dieting:

You need to do three things

      1) Improve your diet - Sorry if I am making assumptions - but you need to shift on to green vegetables, less fatty foods, less meat, and little in the way of carbihydrates. Plenty of greens will provide a wide range of nutrients and promote health in various ways

      2) Increase activity - to burn more energy - you should work towards about 3 periods of up to 30 minutes vigourous exercise a week (assuming you are staring from none just now) - exercise ahould be enough to raise your heart rate and keep it elevated for about 20 to 30 minutes to promte heart health benefits, get you lightly sweating...and so on - BUT always chack with your Doctor before starting an exercise program if you have (or might have) any health issues

      3) You can try a clean sweep! It is often overlooked but - a colon cleansing routine can clear out fermenting debris, and parasites that could be making you feel fat and bloated - and ordinary 'dieting' just won't get rid of these problems so it is highly recommended to consider doing:

  8. QUESTION:
Does it hurt to get a scope done to look at your stomach?
i had a doctor tell a few times to get one done but i won't. i'm going to a specialist in september to talk about what what my options are and i'm sure a scope is going to come up so i want to know how it feels to get it done. a doctor isn't going to tell me the truth.
does it hurt? basically, how does it feel and what do they do?

    • ANSWER:
I think you are talking about an upper EGD. I have had it done and there was no pain. had both the upper EGD and lower colonoscopy at one time. When I went in it was an outpatient basis. You can not eat or drink after a certain time and I had to drink go lightly to cleanse my colon. When you enter the hospital the nurse takes your vital signs after you are in bed. Someone will start an IV. They will tell you everything so it is not scarry. In a few minutes they will push your bed into another room where you will see your doctor and probably 2 nurses. They will spray your throat and tell you that you are going to relax and then you wake up in your room. I felt like I had the best rest in the world. The doctor came in after I woke up told me and my husband that everything looked good, they did one biopsy which came back negative. You won't get the result from any biopsy's that day. Relax and get a good sleep. The worst part if your also getting the colonoscopy is the going to the bathroom the night before and you get a little nauseated from the go lightly. Give you a hint use a little vaseline after each visit to the bathroom it will keep you from getting sore. wayfarer

  11. QUESTION:
Have you used alternative medicine to treat acid reflux successfully ?
I'm on Protonix now and the side effects are killing me.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Bronco Billy

Here are some ideas to heal your condition. Be sure to do a colon and liver cleanse to clean out the toxins in the blood.

      Causes of Heartburn/Gerd/or Acidois

The most common causes of heartburn are overeating, and eating meals that are predominantly acid-forming and abundant in unhealthy fats, spices, and commercially processed foods. Heartburn can also be caused by low levels of hydrochloric acid (HCl), deficiencies in the body’s production of enzymes, poor adrenal and/or spleen function, and/or diminished liver function due to toxicity. Hiatal hernia, stress, or smoking, can cause heartburn, as well.

In addition, food allergies lead to poor digestion which can also contribute to heartburn, as can combining too many different types of foods at the same meal. Heartburn can be brought on by drinking excess fluids during mealtime, eating too fast, or eating in a stressed environment. Heartburn can also be connected to constipation, similar to a backed up septic system. In this case, the body can have a difficult time digesting and processing the food coming in, if the previous meal is not going down and being eliminated properly.

      ------------------------------...

      Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: The essential oil of cardamon can relieve heartburn symptoms.

Diet: Avoid all commercially processed foods, spicy foods, sugars, refined carbohydrates, unhealthy fats, coffee and other caffeine products, chocolate, sodas, commercial non-herbal teas, alcohol, orange and grapefruit juice, tomato products, milk and dairy products, and foods containing peppermint and spearmint. Also have yourself screened for potential food allergies and sensitivities and avoid those foods for which you test positive.

Emphasize a diet rich in organic whole foods, especially organic fresh green vegetables and green vegetable drinks. Free-range organic meats and poultry, and wild-caught fish are also recommended. In addition, be sure to drink plenty of pure filtered water throughout the day.

Avoid overeating and eating meals late in the evening. As a general rule of thumb, in order to prevent and reverse heartburn symptoms, eat meals that are predominantly alkalizing in nature, especially green vegetables. (For more information about how to eat alkalizing foods, see pH.) Meals should ideally consist of generous portions of fresh leafy green salads, bare or lightly dressed, with an equally generous portion of lightly steamed vegetables and a fist sized portion of steamed, baked, broiled or carefully grilled protein. Organically produced foods, and carefully chosen oils, such as raw virgin coconut butter/oil, extra virgin olive oil and high lignan flax seed oil are your safest options. Avoid all fried foods, and all hydrogenated fats and oils. Choose raw, rather than roasted nuts and seeds, both in whole and butter form. Raw almond butter is a better option than peanut butter, and is a great snack when spread on apple slices.

Minimize your intake of both coffee and black tea, as well as alcoholic beverages. This is essential if heartburn is an issue.

Foods that can often quickly resolve heartburn problems are apples, raw cucumbers (peeled), brown rice, and walnuts. Sipping a glass of pure, filtered water with a couple of teaspoons of raw organic apple cider vinegar or baking soda (one teaspoon to eight ounces of water) can also quickly neutralize heartburn attacks.

Herbal Medicine: Useful herbs for heartburn include agrimony, aloe vera, angelica, fennel, garlic, gentian, goldenseal, licorice root, marshmallow root, parsley, and slippery elm.

      Homeopathy:
Arsenicum album – for heartburn accompanied by anxiety, chills and thirst, abdominal cramping
Nux vomica – for heartburn caused by fats or sour foods and/or accompanied by feelings of irritability
Sulfur – for heartburn caused by overeating and/or accompanied by burping, late morning hunger, or early morning diarrhea.

Juice Therapy: Fresh squeezed cucumber juice can often quickly resolve heartburn symptoms.

Lifestyle: If you smoke, stop, and also avoid exposure to secondhand cigarette smoke. In addition, learn how to effectively cope with and manage stress. A regular exercise program is of the utmost importance as is a whole foods diet. Also avoid overeating and eating meals late in the evening. Allow at least 3 hours between meals, unless blood sugar problems are an issue, in which case, eating smaller frequent meals is an option.

Nutritional Supplements: The most useful nutritional supplements for treating and preventing heartburn are digestive enzymes (taken with every meal) and calcium carbonate (take 600 mg in liquid or chewable form every two to three hours until symptoms subside).

Probiotics such as acidophilus and Bifidobacteria, can also be helpful, as can fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and soil-based organisms. FOS is an all-natural carbohydrate microorganism that has been shown by researchers to serve as a fertilizing agent that enables Bifidobacteria to thrive in the large intestine, where it helps to protect against harmful bacteria.

Soil-based organisms are beneficial microbes found in soil. Taken as a supplement, they go to work to detoxify the gastrointestinal tract while eliminating fungi, molds, parasites, viruses, and yeasts. They also help to improve absorption of nutrients and boost both immune and overall cell function, including the production of RNA and DNA. In addition, they act as natural antioxidants.

Stress Reduction: Stress reduction techniques are often helpful in relieving heartburn caused or exacerbated by stress and unresolved emotions, such as anger, anxiety, depression, and irritability. Holistic health practitioners help their patients accomplish stress reduction through the use of various mind/body medicine techniques, such as biofeedback, hypnotherapy, and relaxation exercises.

      Alternative Professional Care
The following therapies can also help to prevent and relieve heartburn: Acupressure, Acupuncture, Ayurveda, Biofeedback Training and Neurotherapy, Detoxification Therapy, Environmental Medicine, Enzyme Therapy, Flower Essences, Mind/Body Medicine, Naturopathic Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Yoga

      Best of health to you

  12. QUESTION:
What are the main things to research about diseases?
    powerpoint?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Jazmine

Here are my main points and if everyone examined themselves they would have the answers to move foward (overcome it) with any disease in my opinion.

Look closely on what Im talking about below and it doesnt matter what disease they want to call it (lupus, Fyber, chonic this or chronic that). It comes down to ridding of the toxins out of the body and letting your internal organs heal the issue. Drugs dont heal anything. All they do is surpress the issue and move it deeper into the same or another location.

The body gives us signs all the time we are unbalanced and need to address an issue. A strong sign (pain, respiratory, or skin issue) indicates that the body has toxins in the blood and it is letting you know the body needs to detoxify your system to function properly.

Ask yourself the question "what is causing my issues?" and you will come up with an answer. The body gives us these signals to let you know the body is not in balance. The more you think or talk on the negative, the more negative you will attract. Have a healthy state of mind and you will change your body's energy to heal the issues.

Here are a few more ideas and dont take any of them lightly.

      a. Stress (number one cause for all illness and disease). You detemine what stress is and you can change this mindset at any time. Focus on a healthy body and the universe will assist in either providing answers and/or healing the issues.

      b. Lack of water (are you drinking at least half a gallon a day, I drink a gallon). Must flush out the toxins in the blood daily.

      c. Constipated (perhaps the most misunderstood issue the body has) Are you going at least twice a day? Colon cleansing is one of the best strategies to create a healthy body. Whatever the issue(s) is.

      d. Nutrition (how many fruits and vegetables are you eating?) is the key to a healing the body of any issue. Dairy and Meat need to be avoided until the healing is complete.

These are the most common and just addressing one of them will help with your issue currently. Learn about juice fasting and cleansing of the colon and liver. Ridding of toxins in the body is the key to a healthy life. Able to heal oneself is the greatest freedom we have. I just cant quite explain it.

  13. QUESTION:
can i lose10 pounds in a week if i double my biggest loser work out every day?

    • ANSWER:
why not do a juice fast, or make your self some hunza diet bread. those two things will get you the fastest weight loss. a colon cleanse will help you lose weight in 3 days.

      Fast

This should be number one, but for most people this is the hardest. Going on a proper juice fast for 21 days will completely detoxify your body, flush fat cells, and reset your body’s weight set point. It is one of the fastest ways to lose weight, and one of the most effective ways to change the body’s set point so that you will not gain the weight back. This should be done under supervision depending upon your medical condition. The best book I know is The Miracle of Juice Fasting.

      Hunza Diet Bread

Hunza Diet Bread is a delicious, dense, chewy bread that's very nutritious and is almost impervious to spoilage. The following recipe makes a huge batch of approximately 60 (sixty) x 2 inch squares, high in protein, vitamins and minerals.

Keeps weeks at room temperature, even longer in the fridge and indefinitely in the freezer.

The recipe for this wonderful bread is as follows:

      Recipe One

      4 cups of water
3.5 (three & one half) to 4 pounds of natural buckwheat or millet flour
1.5 (one & one half) cups of canola oil
1.5 (one & one half) cups of natural unrefined sugar
      16 ounces of honey
      16 ounces of molasses
4 ounces of powdered soya milk (half cup)
      1 teaspoon sea salt
      1 teaspoon cinnamon
      1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons baking powder (non aluminium)
Hunza Diet Bread has a taste that is very satisfying and chewy all on its own, but you may also add if required, apricots, raisins, chopped walnuts, almonds, sliced dates to the above ingredients. Mix ingredients. Grease and lightly flour cooking pan(s). Ideally use baking trays with about 1 inch high sides. Pour batter in pan(s) half an inch thick over the base. Bake at about 300 degrees farenheit (150 C.) for 1 hour. After cooking, dry the bread in the oven for two (2) hours at a very low heat - 90 degrees farenheit (50 C). After it is cooled tip out and cut into approx 2 inch x 2 inch squares. Store it wrapped in cloth in a container.

You may need to repeat the baking depending on the size of your baking pan, and oven, until all the mixture has been used. Hunza Diet Bread is made from natural buckwheat or millet flour. It is rich in phosphorous, potassium, iron, calcium, manganese and other minerals, as nothing has been destroyed in the preparation from the wheat. Thus it contains the essential nourishment of the grain. This is why you must ONLY use natural buckwheat or millet flour to make your own Hunza Diet Bread..... Good luck and good health .. bon appetite!

Suggestions to lose weight with HUNZA DIET BREAD
There are many ways to do it. This is another benefit. It's flexible. Here are some typical plans. Each piece of bread is thinly spread with butter for a total of approximately 100 calories.

Plan A: Eat 1 piece every 5 hours of the 16 hours you're awake. That's 3 pieces which total 300 calories. This is the fastest way to lose weight I know of. It works faster than any high protein diet. Why? You have more energy and burn more calories. Second, the high fiber bread keeps your digestive system regular. Third, your body stays healthy. A healthy body means a properly functioning metabolic system.

Plan B: Really gorge yourself with the bread. Two pieces every four hours for a total of 8 pieces but only 800 calories. You'll feel full all day. In fact, I doubt many people could eat this much of the bread.

Plan C: Eat a piece in the morning for breakfast and a piece 3 hours before your dinner and you will eat a great deal less.

Plan D: Eat a piece of HUNZA DIET BREAD, 10 minutes before you eat your regular meal. When we do this we eat only a fraction, such as 1/4 of what we would normally eat. If we wait longer than 10 minutes we don't want to eat at all.

Plan E: Eat the bread at the end of meals that don't fill you up enough, such as low calorie meals. This is a perfect way to use the bread. You eat a low calorie meal, enjoy it, then eat a piece or two of bread to fill you up. Perfect! No suffering and no urge to snack.

Plan F: Alternate Plan A, B, C, D. We recommend an alternation of the plans, but some people who just want to get the weight off as soon as possible will use Plan A exclusively.

  14. QUESTION:
Ive had diarrhea for more than a week?
With no other symptoms. At first I was just constipated and it was really hard to have a movement. I told my mom and she gave me a colon cleanse and that didn't work until about a day and a half later. After it got going (the clense) it was diarrhea. I thought it was normal. So 3 days later I told my mom I still had diarrhea and she said I might have a stomach bug. 2 days later I had a solid movement. My solid movements lasted 2 days. After that I had loose light brown movements. For a week straight. Now its mostly water when I go to make a movement and its really loose light brown feces with it. I'm not sure what's going on. Yesterday I had a solid movement. Today its diarrhea again. I don't have any other symptoms. I have changed my diet also. Mostly fast food since I'm always out with friends. And before I was constipated I had taking 2-3 enemas all spread apart over a 1-2 month span. Thay were homemade if that matters. The most recent enema was a warm water one that had light soap in it. It was just lightly sudsy

      Action Plan for Diabetes

      1. Nutrition is the key to getting rid of the cravings. Once you learn about nutrition (#6) and also cleansing out the toxins in the body by doing a colon, liver, and kidney cleanse. You'll be on your way to a healthy life.

      2. Keep in mind that the goal of diabetic treatment and self-care is to restore blood sugar levels close to normal and to correct related metabolic disorders. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by eating small, frequent meals throughout the day that emphasize fresh, organic foods that are low on the glycemic scale, such as raw and lightly steamed vegetables, low sugar whole fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains and legumes, yams, wild fish, poultry, lean cuts of organic beef, lamb or veal.

      3. Minimize or eliminate your intake of simple carbohydrates and all sugars, as well as tobacco and processed "junk foods." In addition, reduce your intake of alcohol and caffeine. Both alcohol and caffeine could be enjoyed on special occasions, rather than daily or even weekly habits.

      4. Remain hydrated; drinking adequate quantities of pure water is essential for all aspects of your health. Must drink about a gallon of water a day to maintain health. Your body is craving this much more than caffeine and sugar.

      5. Engage in regular light exercise and stress reduction because they are KEY to maintaining lower levels of blood sugar.

      6. Consider supplementing with nutrients such as B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, CHROMIUM PICOLINATE, magnesium, potassium, essential fatty acids, CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, and vanadium.

      7. Herbs such as astragalus, CINNAMON, bitter melon, fenugreek, raw garlic (one of the best for blood pressure), ginseng, Gymnema sylvestre, and nopal cactus, can also provide significant benefits.

      8. If you have already developed Type I or Type II diabetes, combine the above self-care natural cures with professional care from a holistically oriented physician or other alternative health care practitioner. Particularly useful professional care therapies for treating and preventing diabetes include chelation therapy, food allergy testing, parasite testing and if necessary, cleansing, and oxygen therapy.

      9. Prevention, if you are pre-disposed and managing a diabetic condition, is a life-long commitment. By committing to the guidelines above, you can significantly improve your symptoms, and, if you suffer from Type II diabetes, quite possibly reverse them altogether. Implementing diet and lifestyle changes can help improve your energy levels, and your confidence in your ability to experience greater health.

  17. QUESTION:
Colon cleanse products that have worked well for you?

    • ANSWER:
The natural way as God intended mate .......... Let Food Be Thy Medicine Soccrates said.

The more wholegrains and cereals like organic brown rice and fresh low sugar fruits like strawberries, pears and watermelon and fresh leafy and green vegies you eat the larger and easier your motions will be ........... drink more fresh filtered water too to ensure you are properly hydrated and to ease the elimination process...... cut out or right back on caffeine and sodas, pop and soft drinks too as they will dehydrate you terribly and wash out your water soluble B complex of vitamins which are so essential for healthy neural, immune and digestive functioning........ wholegrains and cereals and leafy and green vegies and lean meats are rich in the B complex of vitamins.

chew each mouthfull at least 20 times ...... to aid in digestion too ....... don't combine proteins and carbs in one sitting ...... leave a 2 - 3 hour gap between each to ease the digestive process ....... eat fruit by itself ie ~ leave an hour after fruit before eating anything else.

Pinpoint any food intolerances you may have such as lactose intolerance .......... lactose intolerance can cause bloating, gassiness, belching, constipation, acid reflux, achy bones, moodiness and irritability, brain frizzing ........ unaddressed food intolerances contribute enormously to bad digestion and compromise your whole system ...... eat more leafy and green vegies and low sugar fruits ......... all rich in calcium and magnesium (green vegies for magnesium and calcium fruits for calcium) and perhaps ditch the milk and dairy for 5 days and see if that speeds the process for you.

oh, eat more crunchy vegies too like raw celery, raw or lightly steamed broccolli, raw carrotts ....... they act like a broom and sweep the colon clean ...... green vegies are particularly good for helping with constipation ..... and eat the brown rice ....... one bowl full a day of brown rice, plenty of water and crunchy vegies will nail it for you mate.

      peace baby

I would like to slim down by this fall, any help?
Yes, I know exercise, eat healthier, I'm not stupid so don't give me stupid answers. I'm talking exactly what, like if you know specific exercises or exact diet plans. I'm look to slim my legs down and flatten my stomach. Anything will help, thanks.

    • ANSWER:
Good - you have set a realistic target time and can lose a lot of weight ,and get toned and fit into the bargain, for autumn time. You need to several things though - as follows:

      3) Try a clean sweep! It is often overlooked but - a colon cleansing routine can clear out fermenting debris, and parasites that could be making you feel fat and bloated - and ordinary 'dieting' just won't get rid of these problems so it is highly recommneded to sonsider doing: Some tips and advice: http://www.how-hub.com/colon-cleansing.html

Best way to loose belly fat?
Please help my sister. She is 4'11 and 75 lbs. I tell her that she's skinny and her response is "my legs and arms are skinny but I want to loose my belly fat" what's the best, healthiest way to loose it? If I don't answer, I'm afraid she'll go into anorexia or something :( please help.

  22. QUESTION:
If you lose weight, do your breasts grow smaller too?

    • ANSWER:
To begin, PLEASE disregard Jett's response. Colon cleansing is not something to be taken lightly or recommended without knowledge about the medical status regarding the person to whom you are making such a recommendation. Twenty pounds sounds terrific, doesn't it! Jett hasn't a clue if you weigh 98 pounds or 298 pounds at present.
Regarding loss of breast size in weight reduction, dependent upon the percentage of weight you are looking to lose and your distribution of body fat, you may lose very little breast size. Typically, most women will notice a need for a smaller bra cup size with weight loss, although this usually does not happen without a reduction in weight of 30-40 pounds or more.

  27. QUESTION:
    Ovulation uncertainties?
    Hello everyone,

My husband and I are TTC for the first time this month. Here's a little background info.:

-I have been off of birth control (Nuva Ring) for 5 months
-I know I immediately ovulated after coming off birth control (cervical mucus, etc.)
-My cycles have been a perfect 28 days, OV on day 14, since coming off birth control

So, the problem is that this month (February) has been a little "off." My last period started on January 27th (I think)...I say that because I was "scheduled" to start on January 30th, but I began lightly spotting 2.5-3 days sooner. I think this might have been due to a colon cleansing herbal supplement that I took for a couple of days, but not 100% sure about that. Anyway, I've been tracking my cycle based on January 27th being "day 1," which would put me ovulating on or around the 10th of February (tomorrow). I have been taking OV test strips (first used the CVS brand midstream tests, but began using the Answer test strips today). I got negative results until today. I got two positive results on the Answer test strips today--one around 11:00am (no liquids for 2 hours before) and another around 3:30pm (very little liquids before). Thus, I'm assuming that the tests are accurate and I will ovulate within a day or two, BUT... I haven't had much cervical mucus at all! In fact, it has been a little weird and hard to track this month. I'm normally pretty "abundant" in that area, but this month I started off with really, really thin, watery CM (last week) that has continued on/off until the present. I have noticed a little bit of stretchiness in the CM since yesterday, but not much. Also, I have had periods of dryness around the outside, but when I examine my cervix, it is much more moist. (And speaking of my cervix, it seems to be pretty high up--have to stick an entire finger inside to feel it, pretty soft, moist, and I can fit my fingertip into the opening.)

With all of that said (and sorry to be so lengthy), I'm just wondering--am I really about to ovulate? Could the tests be wrong after getting two positives in a row today? The CM thing is throwing me off a bit, but maybe it will show up in the next day or so...?

Side note: my husband and I have continued "trying" as normal, having sex Sunday afternoon, Monday evening, and this evening (Wednesday). We will continue tomorrow night and the next. Not sure what else to do except keep going! :)

    Any advice/observation is welcome! Thanks!
Thanks for the advice, ladies! I guess this cycle just threw me for a loop, and even though I know that it takes most healthy couples several months before they conceive, I am still *hoping* for good news this month! A girl can hope, right?! :)

    We'll keep trying!
OK ladies, today I'm having some noticeable signs, like sore nipples...does that come once ovulation has already occurred? Or is this a sign that ovulation is happening? Also, I did another Answer OV test strip this morning (first morning urine) and it was a very bold positive.

    Thoughts?

    • ANSWER:
When I ovulate I don't get ewcm at all. If you're getting a surge on the ovulation test then yes you're about to ovulate. Get to baby dancing girl!

    Hi everyone,

I posted a question yesterday (see below) and now have another question related to the previous one. Sorry to be so inquisitive, but I would love some feedback, opinions, advice, etc.!

The update TODAY is that my nipples are sore…is this a sign that comes AFTER ovulation? Or does this mean that ovulation is here? Or even approaching? Also, I took another Answer OV test strip this morning (FMU) and it was a very bold positive (darker than control line).

    THANKS!  (Old question below.)

starting tommorow i am going to use ACV as an aid to help me lose weight. it will be a significant amount of weight but still weight loss. ANYWAY i could only imagine that it would taste nasty in water. Do you think that it would give off a better taste in Gatorade or Powerade, or what drink have you used to make the taste of the ACV not so strong. Also any more positive suggestions to help aid in my diet, that is natural or not so harmful would be appreciated.

    Ex. does honey boost metabolism
does folic acid pills help boost metabolism
does colon cleanse seem to be a good idea to use with my diet
and any other natural ways to curve your appetite thanx

    • ANSWER:
I tried putting vinegar in lime kool-aid one time to pass a drug test and threw up all over my office.....lol.......I would shoot it like a shot of tequila, the trick is .....don't open your mouth and let air in after the shot....then quickly slam a swig of a chaser like....well...you might have to experiment on what works best......my grandma told me about the viegar deal.....do it before you eat......honey is just sugar ie:glucose.....so you would get a temporary metabolism boost like eating a donut.....colon cleanse and laxatives are scam to diet.......caffiene and lots of water curb appetite.....folic acid pills good for heart.......eat filler foods like celery, carrots to snack on when you are hungry......watch the carbs,no fried foods, easy on bread and potatoes,no soda.......working out lightly with more reps builds muscle mass and raises metabolism and caloric consumption, even when you are at rest after the fact......don't eat after 6.......good luck....."the teacher"......

My belly is huge & flabby but the rest of me is thin & skinny?
what can I do? my stomach is HUGE, it pokes out and it still has a lot of flab from my pregnancy over 2 yrs ago, while the rest of me if back to normal. how can I make my stomach go back to normal? should I do a colon cleanse, water retention cleanse, crunches(although I don't know if crunches would help since my stomach muscles are hidden behind all of this fat) what can I do? are there any good websites about this or anything you know of that works?

    • ANSWER:
How To Get A Flat Tummy: Stomach Exercises that Work!
Now that baby is born, you are probably wondering why your stomach is still so huge and mushy! Your belly will certainly get flatter over the next few months, but in order to get rid of the 'doughy look,' you will need to do some abdomial exercises. Searching for some quick stomach exercises to help flatten your belly? Forget sit ups - focus on your transverse abdominals!
      Great Stomach, No Crunches
One of the most overlooked group of abdominal muscles, the transverse muscles are the deepest lying abdominal muscles that basically act as a girdle to your entire middle section. These muscles lie horizontally and help to keep your organs in place, while putting pressure onto your abdomen. They are also the muscles you need to target if you want a flatter stomach.

      They Do It All
The transverse abdominals are connected to your back muscles as well as your rectus abdominals. The rectus abdominus are your vertical abdominal muscles and are the muscles most commonly targeted when you do stomach exercises. Unfortunately, traditional stomach exercises like crunches tend to by-pass the transverse abs so no matter how many sit-ups you do, your transverse muscles will barely feel the effects.

Any fitness program that targets your core, like Pilates, will include stomach exercises that target the transverse abdominals. However, you often work these muscles without realizing it. Whenever you hold your stomach in, you are working the transverse abs. For instance, the proper position for lunges requires you to keep your back straight and how do you do that? By tightening your abdominals, or more specifically your transverse abdominals, of course.

Why They are Important to Pregnant and Post-Partum Women
Having taut transverse abdominal muscles when you are pregnant has many benefits.

Since they are attached to your back muscles, strengthening your transverse abs can help reduce your back pain.
Labor may be easier since you learn how to better control your abs and therefore may not need to push as much.
The rectus abdominus often tend to split during pregnancy in order to accommodate your growing baby (this is known as diastasis). Having tight transverse abs during pregnancy can get your rectus muscles back into place faster and therefore give you a flatter stomach sooner after pregnancy.
Attending prenatal Pilates classes or taking a specialty prenatal fitness class designed to effectively work the transverse abs can help you stay fit and look great both during and after your pregnancy.
During the postpartum period, when you start exercising again, be sure to include some abdominal exercises that target the transverse abs. Not only will you quickly achieve a flatter stomach, but you should also notice an improvement in your posture and fewer backaches.

      Transverse Exercises
Here are some exercises that target those hard to get to transverse muscles. If you are pregnant, consult with your health care provider before doing any of these exercises.

      The No-Crunch Crunch

To do this exercise, start by lying on the floor with your knees bent and feet firmly on the floor.
Lightly place your hands just below and to the sides of your belly button. Firmly press two fingers from each hand into your lower abdomen.
Gently begin to draw your lower abdomen down towards the floor (picture a string pulling your navel towards the floor) but do not move your pelvis, raise your chest or hold your breath.
Stop drawing in your stomach as soon as you feel your muscles get tight. The muscles underneath your fingers should feel taut but the movement does not require a lot of effort. If you move too far, you will in fact stop working your transverse abs and begin to work your oblique muscles (your side abdominal muscles) instead.
Hold this position for 10 to 15 seconds, breathing normally the entire time.
      Do ten repetitions.
      Scissor Kicks

To do this abdominal exercise, start by lying on the floor. Place your hands under your buttocks and keep your back pressed against the floor.
Raise one leg about 10 inches off the ground and slowly lower it back down. As you lower the one leg, raise the other.
Do three sets of ten repetitions.
      Pelvic Tilts

Lying on the floor with your back pressed against the floor, bend your knees keeping your feet on the ground.
Slowly lift your pelvis up and hold briefly before lowering slowly back down to the ground. Your upper body should remain on the floor throughout the movement.
Do three sets of 15 repetitions.
      Lifted-leg Push-up
If you’re feeling very strong in your upper body, or if you just feel like multi-tasking during your workout, then give this challenging exercise a whirl.

Get into push-up position but keep your feet hip-width apart.
Raise one leg as high as you can and then do a regular push-up. Switch legs and repeat.
This is a pretty tough one, especially if you don’t have much upper-body strength, so just do as many as you can.
For an easier variation of this exercise, try this:

Get down on all fours with your hands positioned about shoulder-width apart, elbows slightly bent. Your knees should be together and positioned underneath your hips. To make the exercise more challenging, place your knees slightly behind you. Have your toes curled on the floor. Your heels should not be touching the floor.
Tighten your abs by drawing your navel in towards your spine. In a smooth, controlled motion, raise your knees off the ground. Your upper body should not move.
Hold for one breath and then slowly lower down.
Aim for three sets of ten.

If you still have problems, consider a Tummy Tuck.

Abdominoplasty is a family of operations that removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tightens the abdominal wall. This procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen and stomach. Tummy tuck abdominoplasty surgical sculpting addresses much more than liposuction which is only for localized fat collections. The problem dictates the length of a permanent scar where excess skin and fat are removed. Tummy tuck abdominoplasty is less extensive than a total body lift where the scar extends around the entire body. Total body lifts address sagging tissues around the entire body, front and back. In Mini-tuck abdominoplasty, the scar is the shortest. However, the amount of loose skin that can be removed is the least. In a typical tummy tuck, the scars can extend from hip to hip and another one around the belly button (umbilicus).

  31. QUESTION:
    Please help me out here?
I used to weigh 135 pounds last year, now I weigh 124. I am 14 years old, and I stand at 5'3. I want to lose about 10 more pounds. I want to start a permanent healthy lifestyle and maintain a weight of about 115. Any ideas for my diet? When I say diet, I don't mean like a fad diet, I mean what kind of healthy foods I should eat for my meals. I am aware of the 5-6 small meals a day and I do currently skip lunch and breakfast, which I know is bad, but I never really have the time, but I am going to change that starting tomorrow. So all I ask is, please help me out without those colon cleansing and acacia berry crap. Thanks :)

    • ANSWER:
Calorie reduction, combined with moderate physical activity, is really the only good way to maintain or lose weight. Your diet should consist of a large variety of fruits, vegetables (preferably organic), nuts, whole grain breads only, with lean meat (6oz) a few times per week, limiting red meat to once weekly. Again, include variety, seafood, canned and fresh, chicken (organic if possible), pork, etc. It's impossible to list everything here, so in general, stay away from all processed foods. Limit your intake of carbonated drinks, chips, and unfortunately most snack foods (too much salt and fat). You are correct, eat lightly more often. If you want to lose weight, eat lightly at the evening meal. Don't skip breakfast. I don't count calories. Monitor yourself, if you're tending higher in weight, eat less (especially evening). One excellent dietary pathway is outlined in the Zone diet. If you follow this, you will feel great, and find it easy to maintain your weight.
With food production the way it is now, genetically modified, produced with pesticides, and herbicides, radiated, etc. the nutritional value is much lower than it was years ago. Generally it's tough to reduce food intake and still get all the nutrition you need to be healthy. For that reason I do recommend food supplements. Have a look at kenshealth.com for more information on this.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi GHW

Here are some ideas on how to heal the ulcer issue. You must educate yourself on colon and liver cleansing to clear out the toxins in the blood. This is the key to a healthy life (besides no stress).

      Causes of Peptic Ulcer
In addition to bacterial and viral infections, peptic ulcer can also be caused by poor diet, food allergies, nutritional deficiencies, alcohol, smoking, and chronic stress. As mentioned above, various commonly used medications can also cause problems, especially asprin. In addition to aspirin, other NSAIDs linked to peptic ulcers include Advil, Clinoril, Feldene, Ibuprofen, Nalfon, Nuprin, Orudis, Oruvail, Relafen, and Tolectin. In severe cases of ulcer, internal bleeding can occur due to thinning of the lining of the stomach and/or intestines.

Quick Action Plan for Peptic Ulcer

      1. Avoid all sugars, refined carbohydrates, sodas, milk and dairy products, processed foods, preservatives, artificial sweeteners (especially aspartame), corn syrup, alcohol, white bread and white flour products, pastries, and hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils, as well as all foods to which your are allergic.

      2. Emphasize organic, fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruits, organic grains, as well as organic, free-range meats and poultry and wild-caught fish.

      3. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day. I drink a gallon of water a day.

      4. Miso soup and strained vegetable broth, made from cooking down a variety of organic vegetables, are healing and easy to digest, making them especially valuable for any digestive problems.

      5. To reduce symptoms, eat small meals throughout the day, rather than following the traditional three large meals per day routine.

      6. Certain herbs have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help repair the lining of the stomach and intestines. The best herbs for this are Echinacea and goldenseal, aloe vera, cayenne pepper, chamomile, licorice root, and slippery elm.

      7. Therapeutic juices include raw cabbage juice by itself, or mixed with either carrot or celery juice; raw potato juice; wheatgrass juice; carrot, spinach juice; carrot juice; carrot, beet cucumber.

      8. Soothing baths two to five nights a week can help to relieve symptoms.

      9. If you smoke, stop, and also avoid exposure to secondhand cigarette smoke. In addition, learn how to effectively cope with and manage stress.

      10. If you are currently taking aspirin or other NSAIDs, consider replacing them with safer, more effective natural remedies.

      11. Nutritional supplements include vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin C, and zinc, taken with a multivitamin/multimineral formula. Essential fatty acids, especial omega-3 oils, are also recommended, as are bismuth and the amino acid L-glutamine. Linseed oil can also be effective. It can be added to salads or over drizzled lightly steamed vegetables.

Herbal Medicine: Both Echinacea and goldenseal are useful for treating peptic ulcers because of their ability to improve immune function, as well as their anti-inflammatory properties, which can help repair the lining of the stomach and intestines. These herbs also have strong natural antibiotic properties, making them useful for dealing with bacterial infections that often cause peptic ulcer. Shiitake mushrooms can be helpful due to their antiviral properties, as can aloe vera, cayenne pepper, chamomile, licorice root, and slippery elm.

Other useful herbs include calendula, linden flower, marshmallow, meadowsweet, and valerian. Soothing herbal infusions include one part chamomile and two parts marshmallow root, or one part chamomile and one part linden flower or valerian (take one teaspoon three times a day).

Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include, Arsen alb., Acidum nit., Belladonna, Calendula, Hamamelis, Lachesis, Nux vomica, and Silicea.

But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent. I lost about 20 pounds in 2 months with this detox. i usually go to toilet for every 3 or 5 days =(

    • ANSWER:
      I hear you!

It is not a laxative, BUT it works miracles...It's called Cleanse More from Renew Life at your good health food store. It literally cleanses your colon, it's not a laxative...however take it when you will be home a day or 2 as you will have to go very suddenly, but you never cramp unless you are really blocked and you might actually sweat and be in pain for a minute, but it passes and you will go a ton. The pain is more like your colon is expanding and your do-do is moving through the tunnel...it's not like cramps from laxatives.

I take a ton of raw flax seeds (about 1/3 cup!!) with a bit of yogurt and tablespoon flax oil. I take that in the morning and at night. In the morning I follow it with a large amount of clear tea or water. That also gets things really moving.

Prunes..........definitely...again......I have to take a ton...but gives you horrible gas...so that isn't fun!

It is also highly suggested you buy a major pro-biotic. Please go to a trusted health food store or natural food store that has supplements and foods...and tell them how serious it is and they can direct you too.

Everyone will also tell you to drink tons of water.

Flax and the Cleanse More seems to work best for me as it has gotten so bad, your colon can burst...so this is not something to take lightly and your doctor is right, don't get addicted to laxatives besides..they only clear out your lower colon..not the whole thing and it just screws you up.

Try to walk 20 minutes a day if you aren't exercising.

If you don't want to take whole flax seeds...then buy hulled flax seeds and add a bunch to all your foods all day.

Really...fibre is the best thing to get things moving..but you need to tackle it so you get regular. Bran makes me ill, but if you can handle it, eat bran as well.

Sometimes a too low fat diet contributes, thus the intake of good oil like flaxseed...is very good and good for you for many things.

GOOD LUCK!!! I understand how hard it is. (oops...pun?? pun??? ohhhhhhhhhhh bad one).

  37. QUESTION:
    The master cleanse diet?
I'm a 15 year old girl who's literally tried everything to lose weight. i really want to try the master cleanse diet aka the lemonade diet but i hear it causes bowel movements. I go to school and i can't use the bathroom whenever i want my school has this pass system so i'm limited with my passes. My question is how often would i use the bathroom when on this diet? My school hours are 7:41-2:25 approximately how many times would i have to use the bathroom during my school hours? also, im going to be eating lightly im not going to starve myself. im going to have an egg for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a little portion of what my mom makes for dinner along with excersise with this diet. Is that okay or will i not lose weight as effectively as others? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
You are just looking at a painful and drawn out way to empty your entire digestive tract.
The lemon detox/master cleanse diet is a calorie deficit program.
You will lose weight on this diet whether you are attempting weight loss or just trying to "cleanse". The average adult has eight meals in their digestive system. Five more than they should. By going on a deficit diet like this you can lose up to 10 pounds just by not eating. But it is only the weight of the food in your digestive system. Plus the weight of the lost glycogen stores, excess sodium and associated water. This can add up to 15-20 lbs depending on your build. The signal these starvation diets send the body is that there is no more food available. The body immediately stores any fat it can and begins to convert muscle and even organ tissue first for fuel instead of the stored fat. Sadly metabolism actually drops. And all the weight is replaced when you start eating again.
There is no build up of bad plaque, toxins, or sludge in a normal, reasonably healthy system.
If this was the case we would have people dying left and right from malnutrition since their small intestines couldn't absorb nutrients.
The majority of the water from food and what we drink is reabsorbed through the colon, if our colons were clogged we would all be walking around looking like sponges right?
Detoxing is ridding the system - liver, kidneys, and intestines of toxins both internal and environmental. Our liver and kidneys aren't clogged with toxins. Otherwise we would be dead. The liver does in fact get layered with fat if we become overweight.
We "cleanse and detox" naturally 24 hours a day through respiration, sweat, liver, and kidneys.
We can help by eating a healthy diet with minimal added sugar and salt. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods, beans, peas, and brown rice keep a system as healthy as it can be.
      Minimal alcohol, caffeine, soda.
Read food labels. If you can't pronounce it, don't put it in your body.
A healthy high fiber diet works every time.
Increases the speed and efficiency of the digestive system and helps the body rid itself of both internal and environmental toxins.
Cleanses actually flush out the beneficial bacteria and enzymes in the digestive system.
Search "gut flora" to learn about the beneficial bacteria we need in our colon.
We have more beneficial bacteria in our digestive systems than all the cells in our bodies!
The digestive system is one of the largest contributors to our immune system.
They don't tell you about the gas, cramping, and bloating you will experience when you start eating again and the body has to rebuild this bacteria population.
Spend your money in the produce department.
      Good luck.

  39. QUESTION:
my sister has a fever of 102.2 and a really sore throat and her ears hurt .any ideas of what is wrong with her

    • ANSWER:
      Hi AUD

The body gives us signs all the time we are unbalanced and need to address an issue. THis is a strong sign (fever and pain) that the body has toxins in the blood and it is indicating the need to detoxify one's system. Once a person is sick, you generally dont want to eat correct? That is how nature intended it to be, for when you dont eat the body has time to work on killing bacteria and healing issues. When you eat it takes a lot of energy to process the food (most of what we eat isnt healthy at all, unless Organic) and this takes away from healing time. SO when one is sick only drink (ideally) clean water to hydrate and flush toxins.

Ask yourself the question "what is causing my issues?" and you will come up with an answer. The body gives us these signals to let you know the body is not in balance. The more you think or talk on the negative, the more negative you will attract. Have a healthy state of mind and you will change your body's energy to heal the issues as well.

Whatever the health issue(s) is.

      d. Nutrition (how many organic fruits and vegetables are you eating?) is the key to a healing the body of any issue. Dairy and Meat need to be avoided until the healing is complete.

These are the most common and just addressing one of them will help with your issue currently. Learn about juice fasting and cleansing of the colon and liver. Ridding of toxins in the body is the key to a healthy life. Healing oneself is the greatest freedom we have. I just cant quite explain it.

  40. QUESTION:
what happens if you really can't go?? are laxatives really bad?? can they hurt you??
i'm getting mixed ideas. i need a quick fix i'm so sick of the constipation, bloating, and gaining weight. what the heck can i do and doctors are of no help!! thanks for the help

    • ANSWER:
People all seem to say laxatives are bad. Of course people are always fearful of what they have not tried. I have had a far different experience. I set aside one weekend a month to cleanse my system and it seems to help a great deal. I take two Bisacodyl suppositories and drink four ounces of Castor oil. It is best to take the Castor oil in juice. I just swallow it in one big gulp so I don't have to taste it. This will cause multiple bowel movements. After the first few I take six bisacodyl pills. Be sure to drink at least 8 to 10 ounces of water or more every hour as you will lose fluids in the clean out process. You will go to the bathroom until what comes out is clear. There will be some cramping. But nothing intolerable. After you are all cleaned out eat very lightly for the next few days and include yogurt to put a good flora back in your colon. I know that many will disagree with this method but it works great for me!!! I have done this once a month for over 10 years with great results and far better health!!!

  42. QUESTION:
    Questions about losing weight?
I am a lacrosse goalie newly retired football player and I am trying to find a way to lose weight and get into shape. I have some questions. What plays a more vital role in losing weight, running and burning carbs, or eating lightly. I'm doing both I'm just trying to figure out which one I should focus on because I am trying to get faster and have a quicker reaction time along with more endurance. Also if I'm a trying to lose weight, should I stop lifting? I'm concerned that running and eating lightly will make me smaller and lifting will make me bigger. Also if you have any other hints on losing weight can you throw them in there. My goal is to loss 30-45 pounds by March when lacrosse season starts. Thanks

    • ANSWER:
If you are looking for endurance I'd suggest you change your exercise plan to running or equipment that is meant for cardio such as treadmill.

You have plenty of time if you are going for 30-45 lbs by March to avoid a crash diet. Just cut your portions and eat a healthy, balanced diet.

If you get closer to the March timeframe and you still haven't dropped all the pound you need to lose, a healthy way to lose weight is to use a colon cleanse. It also helps to remove toxins that build up in the body. You can read more about this method of weight loss here:

  43. QUESTION:
strange bleeding. is this my period?
My periods are usually around 30 days apart. My last one was from October 13th- October 17th.
But all of a sudden, on October 27th, i had really super light bleeding, but it was too heavy to be spotting, but not heavy enough to be my normal period. I bled on and off lightly til today while i was at work. i randomly got this SUUUUUPERRR heavy flow. And that was about 3 hours ago. The flow is still going pretty heavy. What is this? I've never had irregular periods, ever.

I have been super stressed though lately, and my diet is pretty crappy since I work at Mcdonalds. Also, a week ago, my pregnant best friend and I moved in together. So could one of these three things be messing up my cycle or what?

    • ANSWER:
Detoxification involves dietary and lifestyle changes which reduce intake of toxins and improve elimination. 44. QUESTION:
Is there a cure for diabetes? I guess I am diabetic as I frequently urinate.?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Lover

      Quick Action Plan for Diabetes

One of the best ways to accomplish this is by eating small, frequent meals throughout the day that emphasize fresh, organic foods that are low on the glycemic scale, such as raw and lightly steamed vegetables, low sugar whole fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains and legumes, yams, wild fish, poultry, lean cuts of beef, bison meal lamb or veal.

Must drink a gallon of water a day to maintain health. Your body is craving this much more than caffeine and sugar.

      5. Engage in regular light exercise and stress reduction because they are keys to maintaining lower levels of blood sugar.

      6. Consider supplementing with nutrients such as B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, chromium, magnesium, potassium, essential fatty acids, CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, and vanadium. Stabilized rice bran supplements can also be helpful.

      7. Herbs such as astragalus, bitter melon, fenugreek, raw garlic (one of the best for blood pressure), ginseng, Gymnema sylvestre, and huerque can also provide significant benefits.

      8. If you have already developed Type I or Type II diabetes, combine the above self-care natural cures with professional care from a holistically oriented physician or other alternative health care practitioner. Particularly useful professional care therapies for treating and preventing diabetes include chelation therapy, food allergy testing, parasite testing and if necessary, cleansing, oxygen therapy, and professional dietary and nutritional counseling. Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine can also be helpful.

  45. QUESTION:
My husband has chronic GERD and now gastroscopy has revealed that his stomach is tilted to one side.plz help.?
He tested negative for halibactor pylori, but endoscopy revealed that he had GERD, now gastroscopy shows that his stomach is rolled to one side i.e. all food that he eats is tipped to one side.Plz post your suggestions.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Ayesha

Here are some ideas to heal his condition. Do a colon cleanse and this will take care of the food moving to one side. You must clean out the toxins in the colon for the body to heal properly. Toxins sit in the colon and get in the blood and this is what causes the condition.

      Causes of Heartburn/Acid Reflex/GERD

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best of health to both of you

      Cheers

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Roseycat

The body gives us signs all the time we are unbalanced and need to address an issue. THis is a strong sign (many months) that the body has toxins in the blood and it is indicating to you the need to detoxify your system.
