      I stay away from all of that, and stick to drinking green tea in the mornings (natural anti-oxidant) and cranberry juice in the afternoons and evenings (stay away from the sugary kinds - and keep on eye on the label, some 'cranberry' juice contains less than 5% actual cranberry juice). Drinking plenty of water is another often overlooked method of cleaning your body out. Take plenty of vitamins, and get regular exercise.

      A lot of people end up making themselves sick, or creating other problems by attempting to do too much to 'cleanse' themselves (especially all at once). Remember to enjoy yourself - as your mental health is equally as important as physical health. Go out and have fun, don't always worry about counting every calorie or staying away from foods you want to eat.       Try a 1-3 day juice fast, drink only unsweetened natural fruit and vegetable juices along with plenty of water. Add a little salt especially if you are sweating a lot. Moderate exercise is ok but don't overexert yourself.

      If you feel like you need extra colon cleansing then include prune juice, but be prepared to spend a lot of time in the bathroom getting "cleansed" :)

      Highly nutritious foods you should consider: sprouts, chlorella, spirulina, paprika, turnip greens, mustard greens, kale, garlic, brewers yeast, raw almonds, ground flax seeds & chia seeds.

      For optimal health, I advocate a low carb way of eating. As long as you have <9grams carbs per hour,
      you will maintain insulin control, which will balance hormones & allow your body to function properly. You shouldn't gain weight, no matter the calories, because insulin (the ONLY fat storage hormone) isn't activated.

      I personally believe in using fat as fuel instead of carbohydrates. Fat is totally benign in the absence of insulin. There aren't enough calories in vegetables & fruits to fuel the body, if you get enough calories from carbs to fuel the body, then you maintain an almost constant high insulin level with roller coaster blood glucose levels.       Detoxing your body is a great thing to do if you have been abusing it. That doesn't have to mean lots of alcohol or drugs, just that you have been loading it up with more toxins than your body can handle. You also need to consider whether you spend a lot of your time in a toxic environment - big cities, lots of exhaust fumes, industries near where you live pumping out crap into the air you breathe, contaminated drinking water ...

      The body uses the liver and kidneys in particular to process and eliminate toxins. Too much and these organs cannot cope, so your body stores them in fat.

      I've never taken supplements to detox, although I have friends and relatives who have used them and agree they help. Metagenics is the brand that they use, and they provide you with a booklet giving you a program and diet to follow.

      You can, however, detox just by changing your diet for about 6 weeks. If you want detailed info Dr Sandra Cabot wrote two books for the Liver and Bowel Cleansing diet, including plenty of recipes.

      As a start, here is what a general detox diet looks like:

      - Eliminate wheat and dairy
      - Eliminate gluten - rice, millet, tapioca, soy products are okay
      - Eat only fish and chicken as meat products, but not tuna, and try to get organic chicken or at least chicken that has not been fed hormones or treated with a lot of chemicals
      - Avoid peanuts, but almonds are very good
      - Eat eggs, chickpeas, and other legumes to keep your protein up
      - Avoid tinned and other highly processed foods
      - Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, but not bananas, and keep fruit to 2 or 3 pieces a day
      - Avoid cane sugar, use substitutes such as fructose or concentrated apple juice
      - Drink plenty of water to help flush out the toxins, try for filtered or natural spring water
      - No caffeine, and FYI green tea has caffeine in it
      - No alcohol, cigarettes, or other manufactured pharmaceuticals

      There is nothing wrong with taking on this diet anyway, even if you are not detoxing. I have found that I feel lighter after a meal and have more energy overall.

      To make sticking to the diet easier, I allow myself to have a meal a week where I don't worry about the diet.

      To find recipes, you can search on google, particularly good are gluten free recipes - it's amazing how many foods and products contain gluten.

      As for detox diets that identify a few specific foods or products that will perform the detox alone, without any change to your diet, I haven't tried any. I have my doubts that it is that simple.

      You can also take the detox diet a step further and eliminate all animal products. If you are going to try that method, then you need to be very careful to ensure that you have enough protein in your diet. It means you will need to eat a lot of legumes and nuts as substitutes.

      THC is fat soluble, meaning it remains in your fat cells and leaves through your urinary tract, sweat, feces, etc. Assuming its a urine test: Exercise and low fat diet for THC in the fat cells, cranberry extract for thc clinging to your urinary tract. Im assuming you have at least 2 weeks before the test since you haven't applied yet. so you should be fine.

      Most importantly, quit smoking now, obviously that will help more than anything.

      p.s. I worked for Burger King about 8 years ago. I never took a drug test for them. Then again its a franchise so it probably depends on the owner.

      There is really no such thing as detoxifying. Your liver breaks down metabolites 24 hours a day and your kidneys excrete them. Toxins (with the exception of heavy metals) do not build up in the body (heavy metals do but you cant ever excrete them). You do not need to detox, just eat healthy to look after you body's natural detoxifiers.

      It is true that you can build up ketones if you are starving yourself but your weight loss of 2lb a week is fine and healthy. You wont be building up ketones at this rate.

      Cutting down on these foods is great, keep up the good work.

I also had a test spot to see how I would cope with the laser and i found it to be less painful and less uncomfortable than i initially thought. So i really want to go on with laser tattoo sessions but I am afraid of something else now. I read an article in my research that some colors can break down into highly toxic metals and get trapped inside the body and possibly harm it. Is this proven fact in the medical field or is it just a research going on??? Is Laser Tattoo Removal generally a safe procedure??? But only do those in addition to eating healthy foods- you don't need to do a dramatic purging cleansing of your body. If you gradually and healthily transition to a vegetarian lifestyle your body will cleanse itself over time. That's healthier and easier to maintain than an up-and-down, binge-and-purge cycle.

      Shaving her head is not going to help a thing. They can get hair from anywhere on the body, and they do, even the pubic region! Your hair acts like rings in a tree trunk. Everything is stored there. Unfortunately, there is nothing she can do to pass a hair follicle test.

    I know many say it detoxifies the body. But I also know that a lot of people don't believe in body detox. Others say weight loss. I know for sure that any weight you lose in a sauna is just water weight and will be gained back. Myself, I go in the sauna to relax after I swim or workout. But I'd like to know if there is any benefit?

      I believe sweating out is one of the greatest ways to maintain/improve one's health as recommended by doctors. But I don't think sitting in a sauna would actually make you lose weight, even though it COULD burn some calories. It's from my own experience.       ^^I've heard this works. You're supposed to lose 10 pounds within 2 days, while it detoxifies your body. The only problem is that you only lose water weight, not weight from fat.

      If you want to only drink liquids for a week, don't *only* drink water, soda, juice, or anything like that. You can drink those (except the sugared soda, of course) but you'll feel weak and deprived.

      Instead, try making a homemade smoothie using bananas, ground flaxseeds or nuts, skim milk, and any type of fruit. Drinking these (with the seeds for protien) will make you lose weight. Be sure to change the fruit up a bit from time to time, because you might get tired of the same stuff over and over. You can use more milk if you want to have less fruit.

      Just put this in a blender:
      ~1 cup of milk.
      ~3-4 ice cubes.
      ~Splenda packet (optional).
      ~Ground flaxseeds (optional).
      ~Any variety of fruit.

Our bodies have evolved to get rid of unwanted substances very efficiently via the liver and kidneys; this function is not something you can improve upon with alternative medicine products, special diets, fasting or saunas. There is no plausibility or evidence to support the claims of alt med 'detox' proponents. If you truly have poisonous levels of toxins accumulated in your body, then you would be extremely ill and need a hospital.

      At the end of the day, 'detox' as promoted in alternative medicine, is both a fad and a scam. Just because you may see 'detox' products in pharmacies it doesn't mean they are valid; pharmacy chains in general don't care, they are after profits.

    I heard cranberry juice helps a lot. I was just curious because I know it take about 30 days (one month) for marijuana to pass through the body. But to detox products work? Since its supposed to detoxify your body and get all the toxins out.

      There are several different factors to consider when it comes to how long it takes THC to leave the body. THC stores in fat cells, so the more fat you have the longer it takes to get it out. A person with no THC in their body can smoke a joint and it will be out of their body within a week IF that person isnt just sitting around all day. This was told to me by a Dr. I dont know if detox products work for it or not. What does work is plenty of water (cranberry juice works too) and exercise. The better your metabolism, the faster it leaves the body. My boyfriends metabolism is so high, he smoked a joint with me, then went in to take a drug test the next day and passed. So it really depends on the person and their system.
